PROCESS NOTES

• Sometimes in medical settings I take a lot of pictures with the idea of painting the whole thing later, perhaps a coping mechanism.

• Stu was having extreme back pain. We had no idea what was going on. Here I was struck by how funny it was to have my chartreuse Nalgene with the hot pink straw sitting next to his pee sample with the hot orange cap. Everything ended up okay but it was an awful day.

• Wet on wet.

• I don’t love this painting but I also hated that day, so, fair. This painting could be called “laughing about pee samples while contemplating widowhood and trying to be tough.”
