Reuben commissions a portrait in his tree.

We have a Japanese Maple in the front yard. It just bloomed, it’s perfectly red. Reuben and I have been working on a system to make it climbable, without harming the tree:

Sisal rope, artist tape, a helmet.

So i wanted to practice life drawing when he was working on his tree so I brought out a board and a pencil. He requested a portrait and posed rather nicely. “I thought it would look cool.”

Reuben sits.
