Continuing to experiment with biggie size.

Instigations:

• Recent mural

• Reading “Ninth Street Women” about the ladeez of Abstract Impressionism and the murals of the depression

• Crit through the Painting Center, in which Dale and Gerri advised to go big

23×15 - Reuben’s First Swim Lesson I. We were walking back to the car from the Wheeler pool and all these structures were backlit and the grass glowed.

For some reason one of these yellow poles was full warm yellow and the other was more lemon. Also working on trees. I hate them.

15×23 - Reuben’s First Swim Lesson II. This ridge in particular is like an elf encampment. I don’t love rounds but I do love dramatic shadows.

23×23 - Reuben’s First Swim Lesson III. A pool corner, assisted by tape for my lines because my rulers are all too short!!
